Wyoming Private Grazing Lands Program Accepting Grant
Applications
The Executive Committee of the Wyoming Private Grazing Lands Team (WyPGLT)
is now accepting 2010 grant applications for projects focused on grazing
lands. Again this year, grants are primarily directed toward innovative
educational projects that will demonstrate and describe the importance
and sustainability of livestock grazing to the environment.
One “innovation” grant award is available, which will be directed
towards an “on-the-ground project” that will demonstrate new, improved
or applied techniques as relates to enhancement of sage grouse habitat
through the grazing of livestock. The innovation grant is available for
up to $3,000.
In addition, grant monies in the amount of $2,000 per grant will be made
available for “on-the-ground projects” that will demonstrate new,
improved or applied techniques which result in enhancement or increased
production and stewardship of private grazing lands.
Educational grants are intended and geared for all levels, and are
available up to $1,000. In addition, grant monies in the amount of
$2,000 per grant will be made available for “on-the-ground projects”
that will demonstrate new, improved or applied techniques which result
in enhancement or increased production and stewardship of private
grazing lands.
